Originally from The Great Rift (as most Gold Dwarves are), born into the Thunderbeard clan forty years ago, Thor Thunderbeard has come of age. The Thunderbeard clan is known throughout Faerun as they are the largest trader of precious metals. Many dwarven blacksmiths and merchants know that if they earn the enmity of the Thunderbeards, it essentially means doom to their business as their supplies and raw materials are priced out of business or cut off completely. As a sign of respect to the Thunderbeards, many dwarven merchants wear on the right side of their beard a small braid that is forked at the end.
A devout follower of Moradin, Thor Thunderbeard has been required to open new trade routes in The Vast. An intimidating figure, Thor is roughly four and a half feet tall and wears a wicked-looking suit of full-plate mail that is adorned with spikes. Each spike has the name of a relative carved on it in dwarven ruins that was slain during the dreadful DeepWar (a conflict between dwarves and aberrations-many of the aberrations would grapple, hence the spikes for protection.) He wears his beard double-plaited and forked at the end. Around his neck is a silver chain with a silver warhammer dangling at the end. At his side is a well-made warhammer that he calls “Deal-Breaker.” The Thunderbeard clan has high-hopes for Thor and the pressure he puts on himself to succeed is great. The Vast is enormous and so far, he has been unable to establish any new contacts…
